is an all new design to fill the needs of serious competitors on both professional
and sportsman levels. The bore centers are slightly spread for better airflow
and fuel distribution. This also allows the use of a larger throttle bore
to maintain throttle response and drivability while actually increasing
airflow. It has provisions for 2, 3 or 4 circuit metering with the necessary
adjustable air bleeds for all circuits. This allows spot on tuning for today's
state of the art racing engines. The metering is handled by advanced design
billet metering blocks that are fully adjustable. Our patented aluminum
Fuel Chute fuel bowls are used along with Severe Duty Spansil
floats. This is combined with an all new design Severe Duty aluminum
throttle body. It has added material in the areas prone to distortion and
breakage, thus providing smooth and reliable throttle operation. All this
in a complete race ready carburetor that weighs about seven and a half pounds.
It is initially offered in venturi sizes from 1.38" through 1.56"
and throttle bores of 1.688", 1.75" and 1.79".

The 4760 "B" series line is a modernized versionof the existing
industry standard performance racing carburetors. Metering is handled by
lightweight aluminum billet metering blocks that are fully adjustable. The
engine can now safely operate at a lower BSFC, and when properly tuned produce
improved on track performance and fuel mileage. The patented light-weight
Bat Bowls fitted with Severe-Duty floats are standard. This
is mounted on our Severe-Duty Throttle Body assembly equipped with
triple ribbon throttle shafts for smooth operation and durability. This carburetor is initially offered in two smaller versions. One to address the growing demands for "Restricted Performance/Spec Carburetors" and "Crate Motor" classes. It is backed by simple gaging tools that will insure fairness and ease of inspection by the Track Officials and Sanctioning Bodies. This will go a long way in providing fair and equal competition in the classes that are trying to reach this goal. The tuneability of this carburetor will allow Spec Motors to achieve their full potential, while providing improved driveabilty. This will equate to much better on track racing. As an added bonus, matching fuel curve requirement of the engine will increase engine life, while reducing fuel consumption. No small concern with today's rapidly rising racing gasoline prices. This complete package weighs in at about 7-1/4 pounds. Removing several pounds from the front of the race car. No longer will Spec Motor classes have to run a heavy hand me down street carburetor! The second version of this is for smaller and mid size engines, which are not, carburetor restricted. It is offered in gasoline, methanol and a track proven ethanol calibration to meet the growing demand for this alternative fuel. The 4760 uses standard fuel line centers. |
